What I'm Using

So if you don't already know I have been wearing my hair natural for about 18 months. This is not the first time I have gone natural but I think it is the last. I just don't need the dry and itchy scalp anymore.Let me just say that just because you go natural does not mean that you do not have to maintain your hair. I still get my hair done every two weeks. I still get deep conditioners and ends clipped and etc. On the rare occasion I do shampoo my hair at home I use Rosemary Shampoo by Carol's Daughter. I have found it to be great in removing all product build up. After using this shampoo my hair feels extremely clean.

I also like the Black Vanilla leave in conditioner. When my twist out is getting old I spray this in my hair and take my fingertips and massage my scalp. It leaves my hair smelling good and feeling soft.

I just want to say that I am not endorsing Carol's Daughter Products. I also want to say that products do not work the same on everyone's hair. But these are working for me. Are there more natural hair care products than Carol's Daughter? Yes. I just already have these and will not purchase anything else until they run out.

For those who are thinking of going natural. It's a great thing. This may sound cheezy but I feel free.

  1. Carol's daughter products are great! I love her products. When I first moved to NYC in 1999, I was introduced to her products at an art festival in Brooklyn summer of 2000. She had a tiny store near downtown Bk and it was hard to find a park, but it was worth the sacrifice of circling or having someone sit in the car to watch it while I shopped. She has great stuff. She has a larger store now since she has become well known. I am glad her products are in different stores now. I have purchased some of her products in Macy's here. I can't wait to go back to NYC to visit so that we can visit her newer and larger store.
    You can't go wrong!

  2. I'm attempting to go natural, KMR. But I'm still going to beauty salon. I'm also wearing my hair in twist now. I love it, it looks really curly. Love your blog.

  3. Sis, your hair always looks great. It's good you can get it done on the regular. I haven't tried Carol's Daughter, but hope to soon. I need to use up some of these other products I have. However, when I was in Memphis I picked up Carol's Daughter Love Butter from Macy's last week. I love it...it has a cinnamon stick in it. I smells wonderful!

  4. You are right sweet patience. I do love her products. I use some of her body products faithfully. Some people have argued that her product are not as natural as they used to be because the company is so commercial. It's partially true, but I don't care.

  5. Angela, You should continue going to the salon. Even when you are finished transitioning. There are so many styles that can be worn. Twists into up do's, blow outs, etc. Why stop a tradition.

  6. Thanks sis, I try. I just can not go out the house looking a mess. It is not an option for me. So I make sure that my hair is right at all times.

I love the packaging that the company uses. It is beautiful.
